Herald of deliverance (Fort Worth, TX)

The church began with evangelistic services in 1936, was organized as Washington Heights Assembly of God in 1938 (officially affiliated with AG in 1939), moved to Exchange Avenue Assembly of God in 1939. By 1941, the name was changed to North Side Assembly of God and, from 1950, was also known as the North Side Evangelistic Tabernacle. In 1974, the church moved to a new location and was renamed Bethesda Community Church in 1978.

Superseded: Fort Worth evangel.

Jacob Filbert, pastor of the church since 1941, published the Forth Worth Evangel. The title was changed to the Herald of Deliverance in 1951. Filbert was listed as publisher or president through the entire run to 1974, although he left the pastorate in 1961. James Singleton was listed as the editor. He assisted with the publication through the entire run and became pastor of the church in 1964. The publication ceased in 1974; Singleton left the pastorate in 1976; Filbert died in 1975.
